Overview

Valleys & Villages of Bhutan is Gu-Mar Travels & Tours’ signature 9-day, 8-night rural immersion, crafted specifically for travelers who wish to bypass the standard town centers and journey deep into the country’s most isolated agrarian communities.

This itinerary leads you past the urban developments of Paro and Thimphu to explore the historic rammed-earth hamlets of Punakha, the remote farmlands of Nobding, and the pristine glacial flatlands of the Phobjikha Valley.

By emphasizing slow-paced walking trails through emerald rice terraces, overnight stays in ancestral village homes, and direct engagement with rural dairy farmers and mushroom foragers, this journey offers an unhurried, deeply grounding portrait of Bhutan’s authentic rural soul.
