BHUTAN–INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE

School-to-school interaction, cultural exchange and youth engagement, in a programme that can run 7–14 days

  • 🗓 9 Days / 8 Nights
  • 🎓 Educational Exchange
  • 🥾 Active & Collaborative

Overview

Bhutan–International Student Exchange is Gu-Mar Travels & Tours’ flagship academic partnership program, designed to build deep, cross-border connections between global student delegations and Bhutanese youth. Moving past the surface layer of standard sightseeing, the program anchors itself within a functioning Thimphu sister school, immersing visiting students in the daily rhythm of Himalayan educational life.

By pairing international participants with local student “buddies” for collaborative classroom learning, hands-on traditional craft workshops and shared social projects, this itinerary transforms a simple journey into a powerful bilateral exchange of ideas, values and perspectives.

Striking a balance between institutional residency, rural environmental exploration in Punakha and a physical challenge up to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery, this program inspires the next generation of global citizens to learn alongside Bhutan, not just visit it. The exchange can run anywhere from 7 to 14 days.

Trip Highlights

  • A welcome assembly with traditional songs at your Thimphu sister school and a week with Bhutanese student “buddies”.
